Profile

In a few words

Writer, sociologist, communicator and manager. In parallel or in series, I combined these trades during my mandates. In my studies, I read C. Wright Mills and Alphonse Allais. For the first, it was necessary that sociologists, in particular, and researchers in general have imagination, that is to say the ability to shift from their perspective. For the second, coffee is a drink that makes you sleep when you don't take it. Inspired by these two perspectives, I assumed mandates in various organizations with always two fundamental questions. What do we take for granted? How can we describe reality in a way that both surprises and informs.

And if I am serious: Executive and scientific director in a not-for-profit para-governmental environment interfacing with federal, provincial/territorial and regional authorities, research and academia, community organisations and frontline users. Specific skills include budgeting, evaluation, management, recruitment and supervision of scientific and administrative staff, adult education and e-learning as well as content expertise in health care system, public health, policy, healthy public Policy and communications.

Experience gained through the years as an executive, manager or consultant in a variety of organisations, including public health institute, professional medical association, practical nursing board, eyecare professional association, university hospital, and frontline health unit.
